Art in Madrid

Ellie awoke with a fever. She stayed in all day to sleep, and sleep she did, poor thing. Unfortunately we are in a small hotel room, so let us keep our fingers crossed for the power of sleep and zinc for Phil and me.

Phil and I went out to find art. The first was the art of coffee at a little place nearby that Charmian and John showed us. Then we went to the botanical garden to see beautiful plants.
Peonies!!! One of my favorites!
We tried to find a quick lunch, but it was 1:30...too early fo lunch in Spain...so we had trouble. In the end we had soup and sandwiches, just with very slow service and go to the museum 30 min late. Luckily they did not look at the tickets. The afternoon was spenlooning at art.

We finished, check in Ellie  and be John to do some shopping for dinner.
Dinner was wonderful...a jamon tasting with sherry and manchego, paella and a a soft cheese. Homemade wine and olive oil...great company...it doesn't get better than this.

we got home at midnight and Ellie was better. We have food for her to try when she is up to it.
